there are other much quicker ways to get your shit back Ill try it but i just want to know if i should waste 3 days running this regenerator recovering all the bad sectors or if its improbable ill be able to get like 150gb of stuff back you won't have any problems switching them out sometimes they have a little connector between the case and the drive.a lot of times they don't. it doesn't take much.just 2 or 4 screws for the cover on the hard drive, it'll pop out. I have no idea how anything could have gotten messed up but it is going depressingly slow, i popped in the windows 7 disc and it took about 10 min to get passed the "starting windows" splash and now its just sitting with a white cursor on a black background I put Linux on about 2 years ago but I thought I wiped it off almost just as fast I've reinstalled windows at least twice since then Someone wanted to put on his Linux big boy pants!!1

Why did you install grub in the first place? one of those three should get rid of grub. Or maybe just go into recovery console and do a fixboot/fixmbr. Put in your windows disk and do a repair install. I tried each option to no avail, ill try windows 7 disc when I get home not sure what to do but I can't get past it, just keeps hanging, pic to follow
